Beginning in 1942, the 5-ton Zugkrafywagen had been superseded by the 8-ton Zugkrafywagen considering that the selfpropelled mount the 3.7cm Flak. The 3.7 cm Flak 36 was replaced by the 3.7 cm Flak then by the 3.7 cm Flak toward the finish of 1944. Beginning in 1943, an armor radiator shield and team cab were introduced as protection against shell fragments and small-arms fire. Production for the Sd .Kfz .7/2 started in 1942, and proceeded towards the finish of this war, with about 1000produced by the conclusion of January 1945. Initially, there were nine Sd.Kfz. 7/2 in each Flak-Kompanie or Batterie; risen up to 12 in October 1943.
