The ocean Hawk began to enter solution in 1953 with 806 squadron at Brawdy. By 1955 the ocean Hawk performance was in fact considered mediocre which led to installing the greater effective 5,200 lb thrust Nene 103 as well as the using water Hawk as a ground attack aircraft, cleared to put on outside stores, a job of which the Sea hawk excelled.
