The M46 was indeed a better M26 Pershing tank the other the U.S army's principal medium battle tanks of extremely early Cold War, with models running from 1949 on mid 1950s. The M46 tank was indeed designed to change the past M26 Pershing and M4 Sherman. On 30 July 1948, standardized the M46 and known as it the general Patton, honoring General George S. Patton Jr. It had been maybe not trusted by U.S. Cold War allies, being exported only to Belgium, and just in little numbers to train groups as time goes by M-47.
