MB 339 A P.A.N.
The Aermacchi MB-339 jet trainer is of conventional configuration, and stocks most of the MB-326's airframe. It's a minimal, un-swept wing with tip tanks and jet intakes in the origins, tricycle undercarriage, and accommodation for the student and teacher in tandem. The initial trip happened on 12 August 1976 and deliveries toward Italian Air Force commenced in 1979. The MB-339 is a totally aerobatic, tandem two-seat, single-turbojet advanced level trainer that covers the complete advanced training syllabus, up to and including Lead-In Fighter Training. The latest MB-339CD version has state-of-the-art avionics. In 1982 the MB-339 wound up being choosed as replacement of this glorious G-91 PAN the “Frecce Tricolori’s” aerobatic group. The group flies the Aermacchi MB-339-A/PAN, a separate variation, capable of 898 km/h at sea level, with nine aircraft and a solo (the best amount of aircraft of any aerobatic team all over the world). The team formal name is: 313° Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN) “Frecce Tricolori”.
