EA-18G Growler
The Boeing E/A-18 G Growler was indeed built to satisfy a certain U.S. Navy need : have a specific carrier-based electronic warfare aircraft to displace the no more updated Grumman EA-6B Prowler. The Growler is directly created from the tandem-seat fighter F/A-18 F Super Hornet which keeps all main aerodynamic traits. Because of the General Electrical engines the Growler is able to attain a maximum price of mach 1.8, as well as its flight performance is comparable in comparison to that for the primary carrier-based aircrafts. The team is comprised of the pilot and, in tandem, the WSO (Weapon System Officer). In place of 20 mm cannon of F/A-18, the Growler is mounted committed electronic warfare gear. Moreover, in its hard points, the Growler is able to carry additional high and low band jamming pods, additional gas tanks and AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles.
