In 1940, after World War II had broken out, america basic staff purchased various factories to build up a light multi-purpose vehicle with all-wheel drive. The United states Bantam business, Willys Overland, and Ford engine Co. competed with every other.Willys prototype have been chosen, which, after a short run of 1500 vehicles, went into mass production at the start of 1941 and reached a whole manufacturing of 640.000 products from where 277.000 pieces had been produced by Ford under a licensing agreement. Therefore that the Jeep had been the most commonly released light vehicle for the war industry during World War II.
