Through the entire 2nd World War the U.S. Navy deployed countless three types of motor torpedo ships: the Higgins calculating 78 legs and ELCO calculating 77 and 80 feet. Every model could be distinguished through the other people, besides by size, by setup, tools and various other details. The 80 foot ELCOs represented the most many program: these people were realised in five show, for an overall total around 300 examples integrated mahogany and forced by three 1,350cv Packard 4M-2500 engines (taken up to 1,500 inside current show), these vessels effortlessly exceeded 40 knots. The device and tools were constantly updated and improved as a result of experience acquired in the industry together with progressive modification of part: using the progress the conflict, in reality, the PT Boats left the first task of attacking and cutting off the traffic, working with the section of gunships and running inside proximity of coastline or in networks. The Italeri model reproduces the PT 596 and an 80-foot ELCO through the final batch produced.
