Regarding night between 5th and 6th June 1944, through the entire initial stages the procedure Overlord the 6th British Airborne Division received the target to capture and obtain a handle regarding the movable connection that crossed the Orne River close to the city of Ouistreham in Normandy. The control linked to the connection, renamed in code “Pegasus” had been an important factor to help make secure the eastern flank of practical situation and to avoid German armour troops counterattack which could achieve the Allied landing area at Sword coastline. Great britain paratroopers, in Horsa gliders, landed nearby the connection and, due to an instant and effective action, defeated the German troops that defended the text. Even Now the Pegasus Bridge is a spot of reference for the people who go directly to the most important places of “Overlord”.
