In 1940, after World War II had broken down, the usa fundamental staff purchased various factories to produce a light multi-purpose automobile with all-wheel drive. The American Bantam business, Willys Overland, and Ford Motor Co. competed together. Willys model was plumped for, which, after a preliminary run of 1500 cars, went into mass production at the beginning of 1941 and reached a total manufacturing of 640.000 devices from which 277.000 pieces were produced by Ford under a licensing agreement.
