The F/A-18 "Hornet" is certainly one and two-seat, double engine, multi-mission fighter/attack aircraft that'll run from either aircraft organizations or land bases. The F/A-18 fills many different roles: atmosphere superiority, fighter escort, suppression of enemy air defenses, reconnaissance, ahead environment control, close and deep atmosphere help, and night and day attack missions. The F/A-18 Hornet replaced the F-4 Phantom II fighter and A-7 Corsair II light attack jet, as well as replaced the A-6 Intruder as these aircraft were retired throughout the 1990s.
