The Jimmy Carter, the next and last submarine related to Seawolf program, premiered in June 2004 and commissioned in February 2005. The submarine is approximately 30 m longer compared to other two vessels of her class because of the insertion of a section known as the Multi-Mission Platform (MMP), which will be the unique feature from the Jimmy Carter. MMP provides improved payload abilities, enabling the submarine to aid the higher degree technology required to develop and test a fresh generation of weapons, sensors and undersea vehicles for naval unique warfare, tactical surveillance operations.
