OPINIONS: a message on coreless engines. The standard servo motor has a steelcore armature covered with with cable that spins within the magnets. In a coreless design, the armature makes use of a thin cable mesh that formsa glass that spins across the outside the magnet eliminating theheavy steel core. This design is somewhat lighter resulting in smootheroperation and quicker reaction time.
