The conventional Aluminum hardcoated chassis is 2mm, so your  2.5mm will flex less which will make the SDX4 less aggressive and much more straightforward to drive particularly on greater traction tracks. The considerable maching will keep the excess fat right down to similar values since the 2mm one !
