After their success using the R75/5, world-renowned automobile and bike maker BMW sensationally announced its replacement, the R90S, in 1973. BMW's signature air-cooled 2-cylinder boxer motor received a lift in displacement to 898cc and stopping energy was additionally enhanced with a front side twin disc braking system system. A semi-cowling improved aerodynamics and along with the powerful motor, the bike was effective at 0-400m time of 13.3 seconds and a high rate of over 195km/h. This awesome performance, in conjunction with stable maneuvering and solid reliability, makes the R90S a motorcycle masterpiece.
