The Brabham group (engine Racing Developments Ltd) had been established by the planet famous racing driver, Jack Brabham, who in 1966 became the very first guy to win a Grand Prix in a car bearing his or her own name. Jack Brabham won the entire world Championship Series in 1966 and Dinny Hulme won the team's second title in 1967. in 1971 the group was absorbed by the existing owner, Mr.Bernard Ecclestone, whom hired the talented South African disigner, Gordon Murray. AThe Brabham BT42, Won three Grand Prix in the hands of Carlos Reutemann. In 1975 the team, sponsored by Martini, won tow more Grand Prix events. Ecclestone took the brave step of abandoning the acutely effective Ford Coswroth motor at hte end of 1975 in favour of hte 12 cylinder Alfa Romeo motor which develped slowly as a potential battle winning power product. John Watson and Carlos speed were finalized as drivers for 1977, and simply because the develpment work with the motor was beginning to produce tesults, Carlos Pace was tragically Killed in an aircrash. Watson, who assisted to hold the team through thata unfortunate duration, emerged as one of the best drivers in 1977. In 1978 the team attracted sponsorship from Parmalat, the Italian dairy food concern, sufficient reason for the brand new BT46 within the hand of John Watson and two times World Champion NIki Lauda, the Brabham team again competed with hte world's leading F-1 groups for the coveted World Championship name.
