2006 Green Machine
After a lack of 20 years, Kawasaki returned to MotoGP as a works group in 2003 using their first race bicycle with a 4-stroke engine, the ZX-RR. The 2003 racing period proved difficult, but 2004 saw the arrival of Japanese driver Shinya Nakano and lots of development progress had been made. The 2006 model came packed with eye catching cowlings and a newly created inline 4 cylinder 990cc engine bursting with energy. At French GP, Kawasaki battled for pole position thanks to group rider Shinya Nakano's superb work. Nakano at Dutch GP, won a podium finish with his 2nd placing that is Kawasakis most readily useful ever complete. In joining the very best flight GP competition, the Kawasaki ZX-RR has shown its great potential.
