Japanese Navy ace Sadaaki Akamatsu had been understood for his many combat exploits and a 1/48 scale representation of his aircraft was put into Tamiya's Masterwork Collection line-up. A thorough research of an actual aircraft means the A6M5a's distinctive features have already been accurately reproduced. This finished model features the markings regarding the aircraft which Akamatsu travelled to intercept United states naval aircraft on February seventeenth, 1945.
