About the Nismo Clarion GT-R LM 95
This is actually the TA24161 a 1/24 Scale Nismo Clarion GT-RLM from the sports vehicle Series from Tamiya. Ideal for Ages 14 or over. In 1995, Nissan's rushing division NISMO made public their intention to challenge the distinguished Le Mans 24 hour endurance competition. They have boldly declared their target of winning the race within 3 years, and NISMO prepared their GT-R LM race device the exciting project.
Although the racer retains some external resemblance featuring its street legal model, every component had been modified to withstand the abuse this grueling event provides. Its 2568cc in-line six cylinder engine, with double turbo chargers create an awesome 600 plus horsepower and 67kg/m torque. This tremendous power is delivered toward rear tires via a X-Trac built sequential six rate transmission. The four wheel double wishbone suspension system has very nearly the exact same construction as Nissan's highly competitive GrC devices raced through the 1980's. Front side and backside 18 inch wheels are fitted with wide race sticks, and ventilated disk brakes provide positive stopping energy.
The 1995 Le Mans event began on 17 June, with two GR-R's among the contenders. One GT-R had been sponsored by Clarion, a Japanese automobile audio maker. It went in 5th destination for awhile, but regrettable transmission difficulty forced it to retire from competition; but its promising performance revealed that the NISMO GT-R LM may be a serious contender in years into the future.
