U.S. Medium Tank M4 Sherman Early Production 66th Armored Regiment
An extended and Glorious History
The 66th Armored Regiment is the oldest armored device in the usa Army, with heritage dating from the innauguration of Tank Service in February 1918. After serving with difference in France during the very first World War, the 66th once more saddled up for international responsibility, landing M4 Sherman tanks during the amphibious intrusion of French Morocco in December 1942. The 66th fought through North Africa, and took part in tough fighting during the intrusion of Sicily. Going into action on European front side, the 66th landed on coast of Normandy on June 9th, 1944, afterwards going inland to fight the determined defenders among the hard bocage (hedgerow) landscape. A few of the bitterest fighting happened across the strategic town of Saint-Lo, in which the 66th's tenacity and heroism carried your day for the Allies.
