Historic back ground:
The Russian Heavy Tank JS-2 ended up being created to counter the German Tiger I. The JS-2, that was put into manufacturing in December 1943 throughout the second half WWII, had a long powerful 122mm weapon and superior armor. From August, 1944 the hatch in the front glacis was deleted, which greatly enhanced its front security. The JS-2 had been manufactured in the Chelyabinsk Kirov factory (ChKZ), and so they proved to be effective as "breakthrough" tanks as well as combating German armor.
