Britain was given many US M10 tank destroyers in Lend-Lease program. The M10 was in relation to the famed M4 Sherman tank, however with lighter and much more extremely sloped armor which allowed the M10 to achieve higher rates. The British switched the first U.S. 3-inch weapon using their own effective 17-pounder on over 1,000 M10s, changing the title to IIC, or often called "Achilles". As the new weapon required a muzzle brake to be fitted on the vehicle, other modifications had been limited to thicker front side and part armor, plus a turret-top shield. With 2014 marking the 70th anniversary for the D-Day operations, the Achilles provides for a welcomed addition on 1/48 Military Miniatures show.
