This 1/35 Military Miniature Series model kit illustrates the German Panther, a WWII AFV developed by Germany to fight the mighty Russian T-34. Given the value of stopping the T-34 since the Russians switched the tide in WWII, the Panther was a priority which was emphasized by armored warfare specialist Heinz Guderian's part within the design process. The Panther stuffed a robust L/70 7.5cm weapon (rumored to have applied for a T-34 at 3km) and combined it with exceptional mobility and a 55km/h top rate. In the same way notably, it made great use of T-34-inspired sloped armor, as much as 80mm in places. As things proved, development of the Panther was hurried once the German situation worsened, which led to severe reliability dilemmas in engagements for instance the Battle of Kursk in July 1943. Even though, it proved offensively and defensively extremely capable. The Ausf.D ended up being the first variant of Panther; 842 were manufactured between January and September 1943.
