Entering Military service in 1983, the American Motors Hummer is synonymous with all the energy and mobility of today's U.S. Armed Forces. Offically designed the HMMWV (High Mobility, Multipurpose, wheeled car), its amazing versitilty permits it to execute an array of tasks, from fundamental troop carrier to a heavily armed TOW missle transport. Tamiya's R/C type of the Hummer makes use of an established shaft-driven full time 4WD system. Bathtube type frame/chassis is molded of tough engineering plastic. Four wheel drive double wishbone suspension system is combined with foru big ability oil filled surprise devices, supplying earth hugging performance during rough terrain operating. The true-to-scale body shell is injected molded of high impact resin and installed on large diameter semi-peunamic lug pattern tires.
