This device first competed in 11th event regarding the 2001 WRC season in Sanremo. Unlike the rules for Group A, that do not allow major deviations from the production variation, Group N permits drastic alterations including modification of engine placement and revamping of automobile mechanics. Beneath the rules of Group N, Mitsubishi's brand new machine retained exactly the same overall kind once the production variation but had its guts redesigned for pure rally racing.

The TB-01 Chassis- Optimizing durability and drive-efficiency

For increased drive performance the framework employs a longitudinally set up motor also shaft drive and a full set of ball-bearings. The sturdy, hardened resin primary and upper frames are equipped shock-absorbing oil dampers and separate 4-wheel double wishbone suspension system that provides top handling over dust.
