The Intruder A-6A was developed as the first all-weather carrier-based fighter of U.S. NAVY. First deployed in 1963, it had been adopted by real operational units from as soon as 1965. Manufacturing of this very early model reached near to 500 aircraft, with the early model popular during the Vietnam War for evening attack operations.
