The destroyer Yukikaze, from the Kagero class, earned a long service record during World War II. Entering service in January 1940, she took part in operations from the Philippines through the Solomon Islands and later at Okinawa. Remarkably she survived the war and came to be called the "lucky destroyer." This Tamiya 1/350 kit depicts Yukikaze as she appeared in the 1945 Ten Ichi Go operation.
This kit is designed for shipbuilders who want a detailed replica. You can choose between waterline and full hull layouts for different displays. Polycaps let the guns and torpedo launchers rotate after assembly, and ABS masts provide extra strength. The kit includes photo-etched items for ladder and antenna detail and metal chains to improve scale realism. A display stand completes the package.
